Sample Rental Agreement

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

BOOKING & SECURITY DEPOSIT

Customer agrees to:

i) provide BicyclesMcW with two (2) official pieces of picture ID (e.g. medicare care, driver’s licence, etc.) upon receiving the item;

ii) allow BicyclesMcW to charge a nominal rental fee of $ __________ plus taxes to confirm the booking (equal to a four hour rental for Fatbikes and a 1 day rental for Catrikes);

iii) allow BicyclesMcW to apply a temporary hold (pre-authorized amount) of $ __________ plus applicable taxes, which shall be treated as a security deposit (equal to the full retail value of item) and released upon return of the item; and

iv) allow BicyclesMcW to charge customer's credit card for the remaining rental charge(s) (to  be billed in-store once item is returned). 

CANCELLATION & "NO SHOW"

Cancellation - Full refund of nominal fee if cancelled more than 24 hours prior to your scheduled pick-up time. No refund of nominal fee if cancelled less thab 24 hours prior to your scheduled pick up.

No Show - No refund of nominal fee if you do not show up for your rental.

You have one (1) month after your pick-up date to request a refund.

RETURN DATE & TIME

You agree to return the item by the agreed upon Return Date & Time as indicated herein. BicyclesMcW will not reimburse the difference for rentals returned earlier than the indicated Return Date & Time.

STOLEN, LOST OR DAMAGED ITEM

You are totally responsible for all cases of theft, loss or damage (i.e. not due to wear and tear). Damages caused by abuse or neglect will be charged against your Security Deposit. You must take necessary precautions to lock the bike correctly and park it in a safe place to

avoid theft and vandalism. For long-term rentals (longer than 4 days) or if you travel outside of the Montreal area, you are responsible for basic maintenance such as inflating tires, lubing components, flat repair, needing to pay for/perform any required adjustments if you are not able to visit BicyclesMcW, etc.  

Generally your home owners insurance policy should cover you. However we strongly recommend that a Police Report be filed ASAP in such cases.

ACCIDENT/LIABILITY

You should already be covered through your accident and liability insurance. BicyclesMcW will not be made responsible under any circumstances for accidents or damages caused to you/by you or in other cases of liability. This would also include any accidents, injuries or death due to a problem with the item. Furthermore, BicyclesMcW will not be responsible for any inconveniences (i.e. loss of time, money, etc.) or any other consequences linked directly or indirectly to a problem with the item.
